We all know that nowadays almost every other person is on the internet, What that means is that there is A LOT of personal information on the internet, Not only of normal citizens but also of big government agencies like NASA, RAW etc. Now, This means that somebody somewhere would try to breach into the information and breach the security. Today we have accumulated a list of the BEST hackers the world has ever known.

1. Jonathan “Comrades” James

Now this guy, Is known as the “coolest” teenager in the tech world. While only being 15 years old, He hacked into number of networks, including those belonging to Bell South, Miami-Dade, the U.S. Department of Defense, and NASA. He downloaded the source code of NASA, and the reason was funny behind this hack, He said “The only reason I was downloading the source code in the first place because I was studying C (A language) programming, and what better way to learn than reading the software written by the government!?”. The total damage made by him is calculated to be approximately $1.7 million!

2. Kevin Mitnick

Kevin Mitnick, Is a destruction machine. He is the Steve Jobs of hacking. His journey as a computer hacker has been so interesting and compelling that the U.S. Department of Justice called him the “most wanted computer criminal in U.S. history.” His story is so wild that it was the basis for two featured films. He went on a 2.5 year hacking spree that involved “Destructing” the national defense warning system and stealing corporate secrets.

3. Keven Poulson

Let me ask you a simple question, How far would you got to get your favourite car? You may try to win a lottery ticket, or work hard day and night but not Kevin Poulson (a.k.a Dark Dante)! At one point, he hacked a radio station’s phone lines and fixed himself as the winning caller, Just to win a brand new Porsche. According to media, he was called the “Hannibal Lecter of computer crime.”  Though he had to pay 51,000$ as a fine, His past paved way for his future and now he is the Senior Editor of “Wired Inc”!

4. Gary “Solo” McKinnon

Gary McKinnon must have been a very curious child during his childhood! I’ll tell you why, To gain information on UFOs, he thought it better to get a direct access into the channels of NASA. He infiltrated 97 US military and NASA computers, by installing virus and deleting a few files. All the efforts to satisfy his curiosity, but, alas, curiosity killed the cat. It was soon found that McKinnon was guilty of having hacked the military and NASA websites from his girlfriend’s aunt’s house in London. While entering and deleting the files from these websites wasn’t enough, McKinnon thought of shaming the security forces by putting out a notice on the website that said, “Your security is crap.” He is known for the biggest military hack of all time!

5. Albert “J4GUAR’ Gonzalez

This hacker famously said ” Defacing a site, to me, is showing the admins and government  that go to the site that we own them”. He wanted to make the government and major companies to look small in front of the people. Also eager to earn money, For two long years, Albert Gonzalez, stole from credit cards of the netizens. This was recorded to be the biggest credit card theft in the history of mankind. He resold approximately 170 million credit cards and ATM numbers. He did so by installing a sniffer and sniffing out the computer data from internal corporate networks. When arrested, Gonzalez was sentenced to 20 years in Federal prison.
