Ok, So today we are going to talk a bit about “How a bunch of geeks and visionaries started the technological revolution ?” – How amazing is that some normal people with some passion started a freaking revolution! I was inspired to write about this after reading Walter Isaacson’s latest book.
The computer and the internet are among the most important innovations of our era, but few people know who created them. They were not conjured up in a garret or garage by solo inventors suitable to be singled out on magazine covers or put into a pantheon with Edison, Bell, and Morse. Instead, most of the innovations of the digital age were done collaboratively. There were a lot of fascinating people involved, some ingenious and a few even geniuses.
We take all the technology that we use today for granted, but that is not the case! The technology we use today was made with a lot of research, precision and countless hours of brainstorming.
All these ingenious ideas evolved over time, built on top of each other, and rubbed against often times other contentious ideas. There is seldom a light bulb moment. I lost track of the names of these innovators in the long span of history even though each of them played such important role in the history of Internet. There are so many of them.
Now coming back to the question, The reason why these geeks succeeded is pretty simple if you ask me, It is purely the passion behind it. People were getting to know about computers in the 1960s and suddenly in the 70s a hacking/technological culture started. You would find geeks roaming around the place, Visioning where this all was going…
Then Entered the big tech titans (As we know them today!) – Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Hewlett and Packard, Michael Dell who paved way for the most profitable and innovative companies ever made. Product after product and the technological world changed forever.
This article is not about the famous companies or people, But rather about the tech world itself..
